In the long-awaited sequel to Time and Again, Ruben Prien is attempting to prevent World War I--but the man carrying papers to America that might avert the catastrophe is traveling aboard the Titanic. 125,000 first printing.

When Time and Again was published in 1970, it immediately developed a loyal following. Now, twenty-five years later, Jack Finney returns to the same magical territory and finds Ruben Prien still at work with the Project, still dreaming of altering man's fate by going back in time to adjust events...to interfere, some might say, with destiny. Once again, his conduit to that bygone era, his messenger to that lost world, is Simon Morley, the man who actually proved himself capable of traveling back and forth in time.
In From Time to Time, Rube's purpose in summoning Si back from that earlier world, where he has taken up permanent residence, is no less grand than an attempt to prevent World War I from erupting.

The background idea is nice, and the time traveling events are sometimes interesting.

The feeling, however, is that at a certain point the author was at loss for new ideas and the story became just a description of newspapers cut-outs. He read the newspaper text and built a story behind it. It would make sense if there was a strong story behind it, but most of the events described do not help to build up the plot.

I can only recommend this title to people not looking for a thrilling time travel adventure with sudden twists but to those who enjoy lengthy descriptions of places and don't mind to wait for the story to slowly develop.
