Every single mom needs this book. That being said, I actually preferred to read it after the chaos that was my daughter's first 4 months of life. It was after that time I started thinking of things like updating a will, setting up a college savings plan, and life insurance. Had I read this while pregnant and "preparing for baby" I would have been overloaded. This book is absolutely fantastic. It gets basic enough that you don't have to be a financial guru to be able to understand it, but even for us lawyers and personal finance nuts, you learn a ton because you never had a reason to study the difference between 529 plans and ESAs when it comes to the best for your financial situation.
Too few people will read this book since it isn't the fun stuff about babies....but it is so incredibly important.
