"Lady Camilla Tressilian lives with her companion and secretary, Mary Aldin, at Gull?s Point. As the late summer approaches, Lady Tressilian is hosting a series of guests. Tennis player Nevile Strange has brought his beautiful young wife Kay to Gull?s Point to meet the woman who helped raised him. As is happens, Audrey, his ex-wife, arrives for her annual visit. No one can quite understand why either party would agree to this rather awkward reunion, and the other houseguests can only observe as things grow steadily more uncomfortable between Nevile and his two wives. When Lady Tressilian is found bludgeoned to death in her bed, Superintendent Battle begins his murder investigation using his strategy of faking stupidity in order to let the suspects think that they?re outwitting him. So what do the guests at Gull?s Point have in common? At the crux of Towards Zero, these characters and their complex relationship hold the key to the unfolding mystery, and Agatha Christie provides particularly vivid characterization of them all." -- from publisher's website.

Good Christie mystery with a bit of complexity to the plot and the unassuming Inspector Battle always knows more than everyone thinks. Fun read.

An excellent example of the well-constructed plot that emphasizes the who-dun-it. There is an interesting psychological twist at the end. Doesn't have Marple or Poirot but I don't think you'll miss them. (There is a typical cheesy romance, sigh.)

Neither Poirot nor Marple is in this book, but it has the usual complex plot that Christie is known for.
