As riots consume the streets of Boston, a dangerous game plays out between a British governor and ringleader Sam Adams, which escalates to extreme measures, street brawls, black market dealings, espionage, and murder. A sizzling, romantic affair percolates against a backdrop of rising civil unrest, the infamous Boston Tea Party, and Paul Revere's legendary ride. From the Battle of Lexington, a clash between the dedicated colonists and the superior British Army ensues.

Atrocious, not history but shabby entertainment. Books and documentaries are better than this nonsense.

Have to strongly disagree with the three previous comments. The production looked great and the story dramatized the birth of our nation. The story isn't a documentary and it wasn't a ten part miniseries. We also learn more through this miniserie than many history classes and books. Unlike one of the commentator, movies are made for the masses.

so bad it was pretty much unwatchable. I quit after giving it an hour or so of my time.

I couldn't believe that 'harrybrowne' (see below) could be so right !

The made-in-Romania production values were so good, that its hard understand how the mis-representations of so much of what really happened could be so bad !
(Even though they sometimes get it right !)

The actual events are so much more dramatic and interesting than this thinned down fabrication !
Its a shame that uninformed viewers may see this series and will be robbed of their heritage.
Why didn't the film makers consult a historian ?

Who can find the largest number of historical errors ?
Please post your list here on bibliocommons.

Simply awful. This is a cheap, shoddy production that has been dumbed down to appeal to a mass audience. Gratuitous violence, juvenile dialogue, and pompous direction. I skipped whole scenes and didn't finish it.

Factual? I'm skeptical. American history has been so revised (i.e., politically corrected), it's hard to say.

One star for Marton Csokas, who gives a chilling performance as Gage. The other acting is pathetic.

Odd bit: The redcoats don't speak with a British accent. Neither do most characters.

The real Sons of Liberty deserve better than this.
