The best business book I have read in the last year.

With some exceptions for products/services that don't depend on performance, this book presents an accurate view of today's Marketing challenges.

This is an example of two people who do not know their subject. Their premise was interesting, the idea that the online feedback culture was going to change how people buy. They also put forth that brands were less important and emotion would play less of a role in decision making. However, they supported their new marketing idea with weak arguments that are, at best a stretch and with a million caveats. I kept reading the book hoping that they would provide some more substance. Unfortunately, they provided just the same weak theories without much to back it up. Their prose was good, it was just that their ideas were weak.

To me it brought marketing reality. The old methods of marketing where the seller knows more than the buyer have to be re-thought. Often the buyer already knows more and has access to more information and can make better decisions. This change will accelerate and although marketing can play a significant role it will have to make adjustments.
