Dexter is forced to confront his greatest fear, as Debra witnesses his insatiable, ritualistic slaying of a killer. Deb knows the secret of his Dark Passenger, his undeniable thirst for blood, and the Code that their father Harry instilled in him as a young boy. But as Deb tries to reconcile the unfathomable idea that her beloved, mild-mannered brother is Miami's most notorious serial killer, Dexter is still pulled by his impulses to seek out the guilty and exact his brand of vigilante justice.

Michael C. Hall gets 5-stars. He deserved an Emmy for his performance as "Dexter".

Just as good as season 4 with John Lithgow as the Trinity Killer.

Season 6 felt a bit weak after the one before it. I think that Colin Hanks, despite his best efforts, just wasn't up to the task of following the great John Lithgow. I'm happy to say, season seven brings the show right back to the top. I might even go as far to say that it just might be the best season yet!

Better than season 6, but it's a good time to wrap it up since the series is repeating itself. Season 7 has another murder buddy/serial killer friend, and there's another person in the police department getting close to Dexter. I'm expecting a strong finish since there are some new wrinkles in Dexter's "code" that force him to quit being such a moral lightweight. On the surface this show looks like something shocking and new, (a serial killer we root for"), but underneath it all Dexter is a traditional good guy - he's a great father, kind, considerate, good friend, and he only kills the worst of the worst in bad guys. It's a souped up police procedural with an interesting case at the center and a bunch of characters with personal lives that you can care about or not. At this point I find myself fast forwarding most of the scenes when they're talking about anything but the police work.

Episode 8, "Argentina" is so well-written and well-acted that I watched it twice. Probably I will watch it again.

I noticed the writing this season. I suppose I had been becoming inured to mediocre writing -- characters speaking in cliche -- such that I found myself bracing for the cliche. But the writers of DEXTER surprised me, again and again. Kudos, writers!

Two villains introduced this season, one rough and the other soft with very different methods in terminating perceived enemies. Only complaint is the very few face time and dialogue from CS Lee.

Season 7 just reconfirms what all fans of this unique series already know: Dexter is a despicable person that we love! The stories are clever and now with Dexter's true nature revealed to Deb, exploration of her accommodating and even assisting her brother's compulsion adds the necessary element to what seems Dexter's inevitable denouement. She has truly been the series' moral compass up to this point. Deb's honest psychological struggle and eventual surrender to fraternal (and perhaps romantic) love is what drives this season. Can't wait for the final season for more surprises!

This season doesn't disappoint and sets things up nicely for the final season. Season 7 isn't about Dexter slashing his way through bad guys but about Dexter and Deb's lives becoming more complicated when Deb's learns his secret.

This show needs to end asap. This season wasn't the worst, I'm looking at you season 6, but it was close. The show has jumped the shark and is ridiculous. Just rewatch the first couple seasons if you would like good Dexter stories.

Dexter: It's simple human nature to keep little secrets about ourselves. I dye my hair. I watch internet pornography. But what if your whole life is a secret? A lie. And exposing the truth could destroy everything you are. What do you do? Run?
