A father tells his autistic son that one of his Boy Scout friends has taken his life while on a scout camp retreat in Michigan. Sparky seems to already know. When they head to the camp to show support, Sparky is convinced that someone-- or something made Malcolm do it. This is just one of the many bizarre happenings in and around the camp and it becomes very clear that this is not a cut and dry suicidal event.

Pure crap. Don't waste your time on this one when there are so many good books out there.

This is not a bad book. There's something supernatural in the forest(s) that causes so much terror that people see suicide as the only option for escape. I read this right after I read Drought by Masterton and I personally preferred Drought. This is Masterton's usual fare of gruesome murders minus the sex scenes that often appear in his books. There's no graphic sex in this offering, forcible or consensual, unlike Drought.
