A good read by a first-time novelist. At the start the main character was so unappealing that I thought I wouldn't bother, but as his story is revealed, your sympathy swings way over onto his side. Basically a story of how the crash of 2008 affected upper middle class families in the US. Also a mid-life crisis story where you spend most of the book trying to figure out whether he really should have left his wife or not, and he's trying to figure out the same thing.
