A family reunion becomes a gleefully wild romp for a multicultural group of young cousins. Muddy, spiky-haired, and bug-eyed, the exuberant young "beasties" go running, roaring, and splashing around the family's farm and the nearby creek, spitting watermelon seeds, chasing fireflies, and scaring the chickens. Though the cousins' behaviour is far from polite, readers of all ages will be swept up in their sheer joy at tasting "the sweet juiciness of the world."
