I got this hoping it would be along the lines of Dewey: The Small-town Library Cat Who Touched the World; it is not. My daughter and I (she is 11) really enjoyed that book a few years ago and but this one was not nearly as charming and I did not share it with her, nor did I finish it myself. Many details were used to just get the dog in the first place and I ended up giving up as the relationship piece sold on the cover (involving warm relationships and the dog ) just took too long to get going.
After finishing this story I felt sad almost depressed. The story as a whole was good.Like all long, loving, relationships, they come to an end, whether through old age, sickness etc. I hope writing this story helped Glen Plaskin get over his losses.
Nice story about a little dog with a personality that connects its owners with the people in his building in New York.
