Let me start by saying that this is not one of the genres I usually prefer, those being fantasy/magic/alternate universe, detective/assassin/police novels, etc. This novel is reality-based, but it grabbed me and refused to let go. It turned out to be a quick read, thanks to short chapters à la James Patterson (2-5 pages in length). There are only 5 main characters and the entire novel takes place in the run of a single day, which leaves virtually no room for character development, but let me just say WOW! This was breath-takingly good. I semi-anticipated the ending but thanks to clever writing second-guessed myself a few times. Highly recommend this to anyone 14+ (for mature subjects e.g. injured Iraq war veterans).
