Bainbridge Island's Susan Wiggs asked her fans which book written by LaVerle Spencer was their favorite. Morning Glory was at the top of most people's list.

It is a beautiful, moving story set in Georgia circa WWII. Will Parker never knew his parents or experienced love. Desperate for work and a roof over his head, he answered the "husband wanted" ad of the allegedly crazy Widow Eleanor Dinsmore. She too had a hard life.

Gradually, they fell in love and got married and were embraced by the town's Librarian Miss Gladys Beasley, who got her own happy ending.

Not a perfect bk but a bk you give non-romance readers & then they're hooked! Esp. good if you like the western americana type romances.
