A well researched biography on the self-proclaimed “song and dance man,” Bob Dylan, written by the one-time New York Times folk music editor who is claimed to have given Dylan his big break in 1961 after writing a review of an early Dylan show at Gerde’s Folk City in Greenwich Village. Shelton captures the complexity and authenticity of Dylan. No Direction Home is an inspiring story of courage, perseverance, and passion.

Exhaustive biography of Bob Dylan up til the late 70's. Author's passing is the only reason it does not cover more ground.
Full of information on the formative years of Bob.
One of the top music biographies I've read.
Billed by many as THE Dylan book, I can't argue with that.
