This is book #3 in the long-running Marshal Guarnaccia series set in Florence, Italy; it’s my first and last excursion into the series; the book has an okay plot, but there are way too many cardboard characters that flit in and out; and none of these miscellaneous characters get developed well enough for the reader to actually be able to remember them 50 pages later when they suddenly reappear without explanation or reminders of where they fit into the story.
