Myrna Loy is one of my favorite old Hollywood actresses - the Thin Man movies are beyond amazing - and I was hoping that this book would give me some insight into a fabulous woman's fabulous life. While there's plenty of detail, it's too much of a hagiography for my taste. "Oh, there was this person, and I liked him and he liked me," "I was great friends with this important person, and they sent me a note telling me how much they admired me," "entire communist countries worshipped at my feet," etc. She's very classy and intelligent, but I would have loved a bit more grit and scandal. You know she must have had something.
